A
superintendent should have a
thorough knowledge of the various
types of construction in addition to
having a strong sense of leadership
and respect for their subordinates.

subcontractors, vendors, and owners.
A superintendent should also have a

Project Manager
A
project manager should have a light
background in construction and be
familiar with all aspects of a
construction job as well as a civil
or construction related degree. A
project manager should also be very
organized, have strong communication
and leadership skills and be able to
deal well with both superiors and
subordinates in a respectful and
professional manner.
Foreman
A
foreman should be a strong leader
with a firm knowledge of
construction and a good sense of
schedule objectives. A foreman
should also be able to communicate
well and respectfully with
subordinates.Safety should be a major
consideration for a foreman.
Operator
An
operator should have strong skills
with construction equipment while
also able to easily learn how to
operate new equipment and machinery.
An operator should be able to take
direction well from superiors.

consideration for an operator.
Skilled Laborer
A
skilled laborer should be
experienced in some particular
aspect of construction. A skilled
laborer should also be able to take
direction from superiors and should
value schedule objectives and
quality control. Safety should be a
major consideration for a skilled
laborer. A skilled laborer should
also want to be a long term
employee.
Unskilled Laborer
An
unskilled laborer should be in the
process of gaining a construction
skill and experience while working
for Cathcart. An unskilled laborer
should be able to take direction
from superiors and should value
schedule objectives and quality
control. Safety should also be a
major consideration for an unskilled
laborer.
Administrative Assistant
An
administrative assistant should be
well versed in the use of
spreadsheets and word processing. He
or she should also be able to use
the internet and email applications.
An administrative assistant should
be well organized and have strong
telephone and communication skills.
Equipment Maintenance Technician
An
equipment maintenance technician
should have experience with
equipment and vehicle maintenance as
well as a firm knowledge of
mechanics and how equipment used on
Cathcart job sites works. He or she
should also have a thorough network
of parts suppliers, good repair
shops, and other pertinent contacts.
An equipment maintenance technician
should also be very organized.
